Description

The supernova remnant of the popped balloon nebula or also called CTB-1 or Abell 85 is the first collaboration between Kai and me. Because of its faint structures inside the nebula, it is known as one of the harder deep sky objects to capture. Challenging enough for us to give it a go and try to capture this beautiful area in the constellation of cassiopaia.
Combined we have been able to collect 66 hours and 52 minutes integration time in total. Our longest integration time so far. Due to a small rotation difference of 15° we had to give it a little crop.
But the difficulty wasn’t about getting this long integration time in spite of some fullmoon nights, but in editing of all the data. So we edited each one version and combined them afterwards. The result came out very well (that’s what we think) 😊
Let us know what you think about it.
